Why have hair extensions ?
Hair extensions are fun, affordable and will give you thicker, fuller, longer and natural looking hair. Hair Extensions also give you protection for growing out damaged hair.
This is my first time, what do I do ?
You will first make an appointment for a consultation, this is free of charge and you will be advised on how the extensions will be applied. You will also decide between you and the technician the best hair and colour for you. A deposit will also be required to order the hair with, the rest being payable on the day your extensions are fitted. You will also be advised on Preparation and Aftercare.
Why are Your Prices So Low ?
This is because I work mobile, meaning there are none of the costs of running a salon. The saving is passed on to you - why should you pay £500+ for extensions when we can provide exactly the same for less than half that price! Many of my clients prefer the personal and friendly service of having their hair done without the distractions present in a salon.
Can I Mix Colours ?
Mixing colours is an excellent idea. Most people naturally have more than one colour in their hair, so blending colours will give a more natural look. Extensions are also a great way to add highlights or colours without chemically treating your own hair.
Is it real Hair ?
Yes, the hair used is 100% real Human Hair.
Will Extensions damage my natural hair ?
This is the most common question asked. The most important part of ensuring damage does not occur after the fitting of hair extensions is the maintenance and aftercare of the extensions. You will be provided with aftercare advice at the end of you fitting and it is also listed on this website. It is important to remember that most damage occurs from incorrect removal so it is highly recommended not to take them out yourself. Also be gentle on your new hair, the more tugging and pulling on them, the more strain will be put on to your roots.
How long should they last ?
3 Months is the maximum you should wear the extensions for, however they can be removed and refitted. The same hair can be reused as long as you are happy with the condition of the hair.
Can I swim and go in the sea ?
You can swim in swimming pools and the sea, however it is very important you use a good nourishing shampoo & conditioner straight after to remove any traces of chlorine from the hair. It is better if you can tie hair up and keep it out the way as the pool/sea water can take moisture from the hair, therefore causing tangling. A spray in conditioner can help with this.
How long does it take to have hair extensions ?
It all depends on what you want. If your looking for just a few temporary extensions before you go out to a party, having hair added needn't be a long process, generally no longer than an hour. However if your looking for a bigger and more permanent transformation it will take 3-4 hours. We will fully advise you of timings when you book in for your consultation.
Can I use rollers, straighteners and other hair styling equipment with my extensions ?
Yes you can use all of the above with real human hair extensions, however it is recommended that a heat protection spray is used on the extensions prior to any styling.
Is it safe to let my hair dry naturally ?
Yes, once again you can treat your extensions just as your own hair. Wet extensions look just at natural as freshly washed hair. It is not recommended that you sleep with wet hair extensions as the bonds will weaken. It is often better to let hair dry naturally as less heat is applied.
How can I make my extensions last as long as possible ?
The key to making your extensions last is to simply look after them ! Using a well moisturising shampoo and conditioner will keep the hair healthy. Conditioning masks are great to use once a week to help the hair achieve extra moisture. Remember not to use a shampoo containing Silicon as it will break the keratin bonds down, causing shedding. Apply a heat defence spray before using any styling tools. Apply serums and hair oils daily, or ideally when the hair is damp after washing. Use a brush designed for extensions as it wont snag and tear your hair.
